michael123 Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Hello I had SimpleFeatures with V5, and sleep was working fine there.. After the upgrade to V6, I've installed the Sleep add-on, and turned it on but the array is still ON. I see on the dashboard all the disks were spindown.. and in the log I saw the thread for the sleep was started when the box was rebooted What can be wrong? Is there a debug log something? [ When I hit manually on the power icon on the man tab, the array eventually went to sleep ]
bonienl Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 You can turn on DEBUG which logs the events and use that as verification. Your settings should put the system to sleep 30 minutes after all disks went into standby mode, do you have something (docker/VM) running which may prevent this?
michael123 Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 No, not yet. But I do want to setup Crashplan
bonienl Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 For testing purposes, enable DEBUG then use the Spin Down button, and wait 30 minutes (or change to a lower time) to see if sleep kicks in. Tip: set DEBUG to syslog and use the Log button to open and monitor the syslog in real-time.
michael123 Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 I saw in the log regarding 'activity detected'. Then I remind that I had same issue in V5 and it was the folder caching plug-in. So I disabled it also in V6, and that resolved the issue here as well. Why folder caching does not check that the disk is offline before checking..? Or might be I missed some other settings?
bonienl Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Set explicit "include" (or exclude) folders in the cache_dirs plugin, to limit its scope of operation.
michael123 Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 Hi, how do you think will it help? My shares are spread across the whole array
