October 5, 201510 yr Ignore my profile this is for a different server. The server is running 5.0.5. I logged into the GUI and it showed a red dot on one of the hdd but it didnt say why. It said the configuration is valid. Its disk sdd. I have attached a syslog. Thanks I also dont see anywhere that i can run a parity check. Am i missing something? Syslog.txt
October 30, 201510 yr Author alright so ive been busy but im starting to look at this server again. I have ruled out hdd. ruled out sata cable ruled out psu and even went as far as to change mobo and cpu. disk 2 is still a problem. i ran a smart report for the drive i shall post it along with syslog. thanks for info. syslog-2015-10-30.txt smart.txt
October 31, 201510 yr When you say disk2 is still a problem, what do you mean? Did you rebuild it? unRAID will not use a disabled drive until it is rebuilt.
October 31, 201510 yr Author i was just saying after swapping all the hardware it still a problem. Ill try rebuilding it again but i have gone as far as to swapping the hdd with another and it showed disk 2 with the red ball still so at that point i had assumed it was the mobo because i had tried everything else
November 1, 201510 yr Author meant to post unmenu screenshot too...sorry they were the same...fixed now
November 2, 201510 yr Author when i start the array everything appears to work normally except i cant do a parity check of course...im still going to rebuild the drive one more time just in case....other than that im not sure...i was going to upgrade to v6 but theres no more free license key anymore

Downside is it would need renewing every 30 days.

November 10, 201510 yr Author well i replaced the drive with the same exact drive i did before and the red dot has gone away. Im not going crazy i swear ive done this before and like i said its the same drive. I keep an unplugged extra drive mounted in the chassis. So i will RMA the WD Red drive and take it from there. Thanks everyone!
