Added second SAS2LP-MV8 rev 1.0 but can't get both working at same time.

Hey,

I'm trying to add a second SAS2LP so I can add more drives to my array but I can't seem to get both working in tandem. I've switched cabling and figured out that both are working fine. But I cannot for the life of me been able to get both working at the same time.

Both of my SAS2LP-MV8s have bios: 4.0.0.1800

The hard drives I'm adding are two WD 3TB reds. All of the drives (8 in total) run fine no matter which card I use. It's the other two drives that I can't get working.

My signature should tell you what hardware I'm running.

I've added a zip file for diagnostics.

Forgive me if I've left something out. I'm a bit at my wits end.

I've disabled int 13 on both. (to be frank, I don't even know what that is, but I read somewhere that I should do that. But maybe that's only on the SASLP?)

Do I need to flash the BIOS or something?

Anyway, again, sorry if I haven't provided all the correct info. I'm happy to do so.

Thanks in advance.

I don’t have a lot of experience looking at logs but I see both cards in yours:

01:00.0 RAID bus controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88SE9485 SAS/SATA 6Gb/s controller (rev 03)
02:00.0 RAID bus controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88SE9485 SAS/SATA 6Gb/s controller (rev 03)

are you sure you’re using the correct cables in the second card? You could try splitting the disks on the 1st card and connect one of the SAS cables from the 1st to the 2nd to confirm.

Eta: Sorry, I see by re-reading your post that you already tried that.

Okay. I am extremely embarrassed. A long time ago, I worked at Circuit City. One day, I remember a guy calling up and threatening to bring his VCR back because he couldn't get it to work. I spent a long time talking to him. I finally said, "Okay, let's start at the very beginning. Okay?"

"Fine," he says with no small amount of anger.

"You got home, opened the box and took the VCR out. Right?"

"Right," he says.

"Okay, great. Then you placed it near the TV and plugged the power into the wall. Right?"

Silence...

Then. Click. The phone goes dead.

Long story short. Every component works exactly as it should. My problem? I hadn't yet plugged in the next level of my Norco 4224 array to my power supply. It had been over two years since I had to open the thing up and do anything with it. And when I did...I ASSUMED (ugh) that it was all powered up.

Needless to say: It works fine!

Please accept my sincerest apologies for wasting your time.

Thanks.
