October 16, 201510 yr I notice when browsing my Media share that I'm seeing drives spin up when I think they shouldn't even though I have Folder Caching enabled and set to a level of 5 (was 4 but I changed it to test). My structure is like this: Media -movies ---movie folder -----movie file(s) -music ---Artist -----Album -------music files -tv ---show -----season # -------show file(s) I thought that having folder caching installed and enabled that it should keep mounting drives to a minimum, but allow you to browse whatever is on the share until you access a file. This isn't how it's behaving though so I'm wondering if I'm not understanding it. At a depth of 5 I would think that my above structure wouldn't spin up drives while browsing the furthest folder. No? I had it at 4, but changed it to 5, stopped/started the array, spun down the drives and tried again, but they're still spinning up sooner than I thought. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.
