chvb Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Hello together, I have a problem with my HP ML310e Server and the Startech PEXSAT34SFF Controller. When i make a restart of the maschine i have do disconnect my HDDs on the Startech controller. The other HDDs on the onboard controller are working fine. When the unraid maschine is bootet i connect the HDDs to the Startech controller again and everything is working fine. When I make a reboot and don't disconnect the HDDs to the Startech Controller the Unraid maschine doesn't find any HDDs on this Controller after reboot. Has somebody any Idea? Many Thanks.

Does unraid actually boot if drives are connected to the controller? (IE can you get to the webUI?) If it doesn't, then it sounds like a boot order issue with your BIOS
chvb Posted October 18, 2015 Author Posted October 18, 2015 The Boot to the unraid console + webgui isn't the problem. I've connected to the HP Server console and taken these screenshots with the sata link speed errors. I've tested other pci-e lanes and another HDD and another Sas Cable. The same Problems here.
JorgeB Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 I think that controller has one of the marvell chipsets that can cause problems with virtualization, try do disable it in your bios. More info here.
chvb Posted October 18, 2015 Author Posted October 18, 2015 Thanks for your reply. Yes you're right. It's a Marvell chip. For me it is not the solution to deactivate the VT-d feature. I'm using the virtualisation of the Unraid server as well. I've bought a Adaptec 8 Port RAID CONTROLLER ASA-6805H. I hope that with this controller everything will work!
