wayner
I have installed this plugin and I have used the Scheduler to set it to run hourly. But when I go to the history screen I only see the tests that I have run manually. Does the Scheduler not work properly or am I doing something wrong? Quote Link to comment

I would try changing the settings to something else apply then change them back and apply. I have mine run at 3am everyday. I will change it to hourly and report back. Quote Link to comment

Anyone who already had it set is fine. Just new settings don't work for hourly. Quote Link to comment
wayner
Good to know that it isn't just me. edit - It looks like it does do a test at midnight every day when set to hourly. Quote Link to comment

A bad download or something. I bumped the version to 2017.02.13 anyway cause I don't like the lettered versions. Check for updates and try again. Quote Link to comment
wayner
I upgraded this morning and I have had my hourly tests run successfully for the last two hours so it looks good now. Thanks for fixing this issue so quickly! Quote Link to comment
Stuke00
Any ideas why this seems to report extremely low speeds for me? I am on AT&T fiber and have 1GB up and down but this is my result I can send things using resilio sync faster than this, so I know it is not accurate. Is there anything I need to change to get a more accurate result? Quote Link to comment

Is there anything I need to change to get a more accurate result? It could be a number of things but results for gig speeds have never been accurate with the cli script. Could be UnRAID version too. There are discrepancies between using a speedtest docker and my plugin both using the same python and script. So comparing docker speeds to bare metal can differ too. Quote Link to comment

bnevets27
Looks like I can't connect securely anymore. If I try to run a test I get this in the dialog box and log when secure connection is enabled. Bugman1400
I think a great feature to add would be to reboot the CM. A reboot typically solves 99% of my slow ISP problems. Quote Link to comment
DJRon
Great Plugin! Thanks. I did look through the topic and did not see a similar post; but I might have overlooked it. I am noticing a significant difference running the plugin on my unraid and running it on a pc on the same network. My pc is reporting closer to what I am expecting than the fastest speed reported by my unraid. Edited September 30, 2017 by DJRon Quote Link to comment

My pc is reporting closer to what I am expecting than the fastest speed reported by my unraid. It's in the OP and been discussed here a lot. The speedtest script is really dependent on machine and connection. Especially on faster connections, it doesn't work. But it can be useful if that reading is consistent. It will still show you if there's a problem with your connection. If I ever get around to it I will create a docker to run the script and still use the plugin to parse the results. It seems to give better results in a docker vs running bare unRAID. Don't know why. 1 Quote Link to comment

On a Gigabit connection the difference is quite severe as can be seen below. No worries as long as I now know not to look at this plugin in isolation. Now, should I call my provider and apologise..... Edited October 4, 2017 by dalben Quote Link to comment
DJRon
I installed this after my 3rd phone call to my provider in as many months about getting speeds as slow as 1.6 Mb/s when I am paying for 300. They called a few days later to "follow up" I told them then that I have loaded the program on my home server and have it monitoring my speeds throughout the day. Since then I have noticed consistently higher speeds. Still not always 300; but you can see a definite spike after that last "follow up" phone call. Quote Link to comment
