Drive activity noise when all disks are spun down

This is a strange problem, you would think that all the disks would be silent but i get a little click every twenty seconds there is no drive activity lights though.  Tested with all drives spun up as well and i get the same clicking sound.  Could this be a faulty hard drive?  I did remove disk 1 which is parity and the clicking sound stopped, parity is not even enabled.

    Could be a bad drive, it's a sound I've heard from bad drives over the years.

    Rebuilt parity and that seemed to fix the problem, problem solved.
