New Motherboard needed

Recommended Posts

Hello,

First post to the forums here but my motherboard recently died, being around 7 years old it had a fairly decent life but now stuck on choosing another board. Looking through all the posts i have seen a lot of problems with NIC's but some that were claimed to be fixed in the 6.0 beta 5 - beta 10. Is there anyway to clarify if this is still the case and then i can go ahead and order the new board to get back up and running.

http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/FM2A88M%20Extreme4+/?cat=Specifications  - Running on Qualcomm Atheros AR8171 chipset (apparently fixed in v6 beta's)

http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/FM2A88X%20Pro3+/?cat=Specifications  - Running on Realtek RTL8111GR ( i know realtek have had issues from the hardware guide but are these stil present?)

I will be purchasing new cpu and ram at the same time but i have found no issues in my current choice's.

Thank you

Do go with Intel. I started out all AMD as the pricing was irresistible, but I paid for it quickly in power consumption and compatibility issues with some HBA cards. The idle drain on those Intel boards is so  low vs idle on AMD; it really eats your lunch.
