[SOLVED] Unraid can't get to the internet

Featured Replies

So after much rooting around in the router settings, I found some old old old out of date reservations. Since putting a wireless switch in they needed changing. I removed them and suddenly it all works! GO figure. Thanks all!

So I started this off as a post in plugins as I couldn't get dynamix/docker to load anything.

A few suggestions later we've narrowed it down to Unraid not getting to the web...

First I tried:

ping github.com -c 3

3 packets transmitted, 0 recieved, 100% packet loss, time 1999s  :o

Then I tried manually setting a DNS address in Settings / Network.  8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Just tried to ping again and got:

ping: unkown host github.com

Which is now more confusing!

I've tried auto-ing the dns and IP again and they go back to 192.168.0.11 (unraid) and 192.168.0.1 (router)

Unraid doesn't show up in the router, but the wireless switch that it connects to does.

I am sure that's working fine as the PC I am posting this on is also connected to it!

Help me Obi-Wan!? Jokes aside I am normally half decent with this stuff, but I'm stumped!

I know this isn't what you are trying to achieve, but try connecting unRAID directly to your router and see it that works. That will help narrow it down.

I can't unfortunately. It's seperated by several floors.

I might be able to drag it downstairs later when the gf hasn't got friends round.

I think it used to have acces on v4 before I upgraded a few days ago, then again I only ever used it as a media server.

It's still fine for accessing shares etc.

I do have an ethernet/powerline switch I could dig out and try as well. I switched switches as the 5g wifi was about 30% faster.

I'm also wondering if the fact only the T-Link Wireless switch is showing up on ther router IP list is an issue?

Unraid was on the filter list so I've removed it on the router too.

The other bit I can't figure out is how the Unraid server is 192.168.0.11 but does not show up as connected to the router but both the PC that goes into the wireless switch and a PC that goes direct into the router can access the Unraid shares!
