Drives connected to Areca controller showing failed SMART info

I just upgraded to 6.1.4 and the dashboard is showing a red thumbs down icon for all the drives connected to my Areca ARC1261 controller card, when I mouse over the icon it says 'SMART health check failed'. Is this due to the fact that UnRaid and the Areca don't communicate all the info for the drives connected to the controller? Is there a way to correct this?
