SHFS 100% Web interface down and docker images down after 2-3 days up, VMs ok

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am running 6.13 with 2 vms with 2 GPUs passed through.  I noticed the problem a few weeks ago but then started messing around with VMs so i have rebooted my server a few times.  after 3 or 4 days up, my web interface dies and all dockers stop.  my vms however stay running and i can use them.  the shares also die.

I can log into ssh and run TOP.  i see the VMs running near the top, but SHFS is allways pinged at 100.  Also my system load is around 91,92,90.  I have no issues up till about day 3 or 4.  I do have a drive that is failing that i am waiting on a replacement.  I also am going to update to 6.14 later today to see if this helps.

Also, any attempt to shutdown does not work.  i have Powerdown scrip installed but it does nothing during this time.

any one else having this problem?  I used to have this setup as an ESXI VM, but moved on from there and now run VMs from Unraid.

Help!

Are you disks on ReiserFS?

Yes I have not switched any.

  • 1 month later...

Exactly the same symptom here, with a flat unraid and no dockers or anything running. Ive been experiencing this for a while and have slowly stripped back additions and it still happens. Might take a month, might take two days, but it always results in 100% shfs, IO lockup, and is always triggered by a write.

I had solved my problem with replacing a bad drive. I was getting a lot of errors on the drive during this time. Once I replaced that drive everything went away and has been running smoothly for weeks.

Thanks mate - I am currently migrating to XFS (long process!) to see if this knocks it on the head.
