Disks Temp in lastest version of unraid

Featured Replies

Hi all, I recently updated my system to unraid 6.1.4 and I noticed something strange: the temperature of the drives which are spinning aren't always showing while it can be that a disk not spinning has it's own temperature displayed.

You can clearly see this in the screenshot below:

temp.tiff?dl=1

I simply erased the thumb drive with unraid os 5 and installed the newer one.

I attach also the syslog. ( @ this link https://www.dropbox.com/s/2zgpk4ohuunigze/syslog.txt?dl=1)

Thank you

There can be a significant delay in the GUI recognising changes.  The default for update frequency is 1800 seconds (30 minutes).    The update frequency can be set in settings, but you want to avoid making it to frequent as that can affect performance.    Changing the 1800 to something like 180 is a good choice.

Ok thank you! But this kind of trick wasn't necessary in previous versions of unraid right? If not I never noticed it  ;D

unRAID versions prior to version 6 did not have automatic (real-time) screen updating and it was required to press the Refresh button.

In version 6 it is a design decision to update the disk (temperature) readings at a separate and lower interval as the automatic screen updates. This is done to minimize the impact on disk performance.
