November 27, 201510 yr Hello all, I am new to unRAID and have been enjoying the OS so far. I just started to play with the virtual machines today and I seem to be having some issues. First off my specs: Athlon x2 64 4000+ ASUS M2N32-SLI Premium Vista Edition Motherboard Radeon HD 2400 PRO graphics card Now, I know that HVM may be an issue here with my cpu, although unRAID does say it is enabled. My question is more on how to understand the log file I will post below. 2015-11-27 03:24:02.163+0000: starting up libvirt version: 1.2.18, qemu version: 2.3.0 Domain id=4 is tainted: high-privileges Domain id=4 is tainted: host-cpu char device redirected to /dev/pts/1 (label charserial0) There is no "eyeball" to click on to access this vm. I am interpreting this log as saying that my host cpu does not have the privilege to run the vm. Is this correct? Is the Domain id basically just the instance i am running? I have started and stopped the vm 4 times since i have created it, with these same messages each time. I do plan on upgrading the motherboard and cpu in the next week or so, as well as adding a new graphics card to allow hdmi to my tv. I was hoping to test the vm and got excited when I saw my cpu did have hvm support but I am guessing unRAID may be incorrect in saying that it is supported.
November 27, 201510 yr Author I do not have that option. I have attached the menu as it appears when I click on OpenELEC.
November 27, 201510 yr Apologies. I forgot that this was OpenELEC. What monitor do you have plugged into the graphics card?
November 28, 201510 yr Author I currently have VGA going to my 55" Samsung plasma, but it is not hooked up. I just ordered a new graphics card this morning with HDMI, as my current card is only DVI, and will use that with a 6' cable to the TV. I have to move my server tower closer to the TV to use the VGA cable, but even with OpenELEC running, all I see is the CLI for unRAID. Is there a command to start OpenELEC from this point? I have searched and searched, all I can find is documentation that gets me to the point of clicking create after configuring the VM, and then how to use Kodi.

OpenElec (or any VM using hardware pass through) requires a graphics card in addition to the built in video from the motherboard. The built-in video is used by unRaid for its console, and the graphics card is "passed-through" to OpenElec for its exclusive use.
November 28, 201510 yr Author Will this work with two video cards? The board I have purchased, the Asus M5A99FX does not have on-board video. My current board is capable of this, so I will plug the VGA into the onboard port and see what happens. Is there no way to vnc or rdp into OpenELEC?
