November 29, 201510 yr hello unRAIDERs! one drive had errors and unRAID decided to emulate it's contents. it held only one share (not split to other drives), but also cache (SSD) was enabled for it. this particular brand-new (just a few days) drive was holding backup data, which ALL do still exist on another hardware raid-solution. because of my distrust (built up over a few days) i don't want to have these data to be emulated and later on be rebuilt to an exchange drive. they can be totally discarded. now, how do i get it "operated" out of the array, so that all other drives/shares and the config of unRAID aren't compromised? thanks for your help.

Tools - New Config. You will have to reassign all drives you want to keep. Make very sure you don't assign a data drive to the parity slot. unRAID will rebuild parity.
November 29, 201510 yr Author thx. turl. i imagine that new config would imply, that the whole setup for shares, users, etc. need to be redone as well? if that's the case, would it be an alternative to assign "no drive" to the slot of the disabled disk and then rebuilt parity?

New Config is the only way to get it to rebuild parity. Those other things will not be affected, just the disk assignments.
