September 27, 200916 yr OK, I purchased a key, stopped the disks, copied the key across, rebooted and nothing. Dragged out a monitor and keyboard to see what was going on; BIOS was no longer seeing the key or any other USB devices for that matter. Installed a CD to reflash the BIOS, it sees the USB devices again. Booted off the new key and got a boot error. Tried booting without the License and got a Boot Error. Built a new key with Syslinux and the configuration files from the original key, boots OK (no license obviously) Rebuilt the original key, still gets a boot error with or without the license. Does UnRaid do something funky if it doesn't like your key? The key should be OK, but I really can't explain what's happening. Advice required.
September 27, 200916 yr That to me sounds like a faulty flash drive. It's not something installing your key would have done to it; but if it was "about to fail", saving a file (a write operation) such as the key file may have exploited the pending condition. If it works with a different flash drive without problems, I'd suggest scrapping the defective drive (it's obviously not reliable enough for you to use) and contact Tom for a new key file. Robbie
