December 2, 201510 yr First post! Just found this forum and product from the Plex page on Reddit. I've used PMS for years on Windows and have about 4TB on content. I'd like to build an Unraid server with PMS but frankly don't have the time to spend on ordering and building. I travel weekly and often overseas, when i'm home on the weekend i spend it with the family. Does anyone want to earn some cash by building me a box and showing me how to use the software? I'm pretty well versed on hardware but don't keep on the latest/greatest advancements. I also know nothing about linux or Unraid. I'm in Dallas so someone local would awesome but not mandatory. Shoot me a PM if interested.
December 2, 201510 yr Instead of building from scratch, many people have had success using HP ProLiant servers for unRAID. Also, looks like these forum members are still taking orders: Greenleaf Technology (pre-built unRAID servers)
December 6, 201510 yr What's your budget? What do you plan on doing with the system, is it strictly just going to be Plex or do you plan on running VM's at some point? Your price is going to vary greatly depending on what you plan to do now the system and in the future. If you want basic media storage playback and a few Docker Applications here's a link to a 16TB unRAID server I priced out for client under $1,000. http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=27974886 It's worth noting the lime-technology team offers a support service now as well. You might be able to save a few dollars. I know you said you spend your time sparingly but throwing a machine together doesn't take much time when you have all the parts in front of you.. http://lime-technology.com/introducing-services-from-lime-technology/ Just a thought.
