Plex being the one I'm using at this time. And the only one plugin running on the server when it was Version 5. I used the easy guide here http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=39032.0 to setup my USB Stick. Of course stopped the array and backed all data to another computer on the network. Proceeded to follow the guide and format and place files on the USB stick. The array started fine and finished a couple settings the guide mentioned once the array started. I.E. UPS, Scheduler... At this stage the shares where there and was able to read and write to them. I followed the instructions for adding a docker. Plex was my first one of choice. I got it installed and sharing local and over the web. But my setting felt wrong in the way the /config was pointing to. I got that changed to push to my Cache SSD drive as it did before on Version 5 All seemed good. I then realized the the cache drive wasn't showing up as the cache drive it was showing up as part of the array. I realized that and stopped the array. Removed the drive from it's position and made it a cache drive. Well as you know that leaves the system missing a drive. so I needed to run a New Config. So I screen captured the drive placement and proceeded to wipe the setup and replace all the drives under this new config. It ran a sync parity over night. I was able to config plex to my liking and it worked fine again. This after noon I was out and wanted to test plex again and it surprisingly worked great. Faster then it use to be on version 5. I was pleased. I came home this evening and tried to transfer a bluray file to this server and on my windows 7 machine it no longer see's the network shared folders. All of the drives by number are there and accessible but no shares. I went to the WEB-Ui and there are no user shares. They are gone. The folders(Share Names) however are still on the drives which means the data is there. I suspect it's a simple error on my part but could sure use your help out here please. If all else fails at this time, is it possible to go back to version 5 if needed? And or to start the process over from 5 to 6? Thank you for your time, P.S. Also the server is still up and running and has not been shut down. I wanted to wait for help before shutting down just in case... r2d2-syslog-20151203-0151.zip r2d2-diagnostics-20151203-0220.zip
December 3, 201510 yr Community Expert There seem to be two common things that can cause user shares to not show up: They have not been enabled under Settings->Global Share settings. If this is the case they will not be visible on the network either. You have an ad blocker that is interfering with the unRAID GUI. In this case the shares are visible on the network, but are nor being shown in the GUI.
December 3, 201510 yr Author Thank you for the reply. I don't feel it's an Ad thing as it was up and running fine and I could see the shares at all computer on the network. I've tried different browsers as well. Pulling hair out just a touch now. lol Last night i asked for help on the disk shares and got those working just after posting the question. That was solved in the global network settings. Thank you for the help though willing to try more stuff to fix it. Any thoughts on a reboot or still hold off?
December 3, 201510 yr Author Thank you I had read that already. I just read it again hoping something would click for me to try. So I disabled my virus and malware software on this one computer I'm using to read and write you on the forums. I also logged into my router and shut off all web blocking at this time to test. Still no changes in seeing the User shares. I did notice that I have a user0 under plex docker setting in the drop down when adding /movie locations. I remember last night seeing user only and no zero at the end. Could that be the problem? Plex appears to see the /movie share as I just checked it through my browser. So that's working and streaming movies to this PC. I decided to stop the array and make sure the User shares are in fact set to YES under the Global Share Settings. I even changed it to no then back to Yes just for good measure. Then started the array from that point and refreshed the browser and just disk shares only in Windows 7 and browser. I'm going to restart this laptop I'm on to see if there is a change.
December 3, 201510 yr Community Expert It is normal to see /mnt/user and /mnt/user0 when user shares are enabled. The first is a view of the user shares including the cache drive (if any) and the second is a view of the same user shares excluding the cache drive. Can you actually see the user shares at the network level from a PC/Mac? If yes then this suggests they are working fine, and the issue is at the unRAID Web GUI level. It seems that an issue with some users seeing the User Shares via the Web GUI is a new issue that has surfaced with the 6.1.5 release that most of those affected have resolved by disabling ad blocking.
December 3, 201510 yr Author I've included a screen grab of what I can now see in windows. As you will notice only drive shares at this time.
December 3, 201510 yr Your include/exclude assignments for the user shares don't look right, e.g. shareComment="Full Bluray Rips" shareInclude="Disk17" shareExclude="Disk1,Disk2,Disk3,Disk4,Disk5,Disk6,Disk7,Disk8,Disk9,Disk10,Disk11,Disk12,Disk13,Disk14,Disk15,Disk16,Disk18" both include and exclude is used, recommend to use one or the other but not both it contains references to none existing disks As a first step I recommend you set include/exclude settings for EACH user share back to default and see if shares start to appear. Next re-apply either include or exclude as needed for each share.

I am unclear on how to make these changes in the system when I am unable to see the shares in the WEB-Ui. Please advise on changing these setting back to default. Do the changes have to be done with the system stopped or started? Any instructions or links to solve this issue would be greatly appreciated. One more thing. Is it easier for me to go back to Version 5 start the array and make the changes there to all the shares? Then do the upgrade procedure again? Whats weird is Plex is working with 2 of the shares that I'm sharing only with Plex. So I know the shares have to be okay at this point and intact. Also is it safe to try restarting the machine yet? That i haven't tried and maybe they will show in the WEB-Ui so that i may make these changes. Have read here in the past and learned real quickly that when something goes wrong with UNRAID server get that System Log post it and "DO NOT TURN OFF THE MACHINE" or stop the array until the folks out here have looked over the system log etc to see if it's okay to do so. Thank you,
December 3, 201510 yr The shares configuration is stored on your flash device in folder /config/shares. You can open and edit the <share-name>.cfg files and reset the include/exclude settings to: shareInclude="" shareExclude="" You might need to restart your system to make these changes effective.

Yes, stop the array before making changes and notepad can be used, though I prefer notepad++

I then rebooted the server and shares are now visible on windows machines on the network as well as in the Unraid WEB-Ui. SOLVED Thank you both again for your help with this problem.
