December 3, 201510 yr Whenever I delete large files, it goes back to being ok. Then, it will happen again as it fills up. What to do? Is this sign that drive is going bad?
December 3, 201510 yr Not a drive going bad, just a bug with the handling of the calculations. I'm sure the appropriate person will see this and correct it in a future update. 'nan' just means 'not a number'. You also might want to check the file system on Disk 2, see Check Disk File systems.
December 3, 201510 yr What version of unRAID are you using ? This 'bug' was solved several versions ago (can't remember exactly).
December 5, 201510 yr Author Thanks for the reply. By going to plugin, upgrade, it somehow doesn't complete. I believe I can download the new version. Is there any instruction around to update version 6.0 stable to newer version? I see a lot of 5 to 6. But no 6.0 stable to newer version 6.

The basic instructions for upgrading manually to the latest release involve downloading the ZIP file from the Limetech site and extracting the bzroot and bzimage file overwriting the copies on the current flash drive. One thing you have to watch for if coming from a 6.0.x release is that all the plugins you use are compatible with the 6,1,x series as a change in security model happened which broke many plugins until they were upgraded There is a forum sub-section for plugins verified to work with 6.1.
December 6, 201510 yr Author In that case, doing it via the plugins page seems the easiest and safest way. Just have to figure out why it's not happening.

Have a look here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=42449.0 AND http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=42446.0 and for the list of plugins for post 6.1.X see here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?board=77.0 As I recall, the update via the GUI did not automatically update plugins to versions required to run in post 6.1.0 versions of unRAID. That part of the process was up to the user. You should be able to determine which plugins you are using and determine if they are up to date. You may already be OK.
December 6, 201510 yr Community Expert In that case, doing it via the plugins page seems the easiest and safest way. Just have to figure out why it's not happening. Two possibilities come to mind: 1) Your DNS is broken. From console or telnet, what do you get with this? ping amazonaws.com -c 3 2) Your flash is corrupt. Put it in your PC and let it checkdisk. As Frank1940 said, you will still have to deal with plugin compatibility. Most of the commonly used plugins should be fine. You should be moving to dockers anyway for anything that does not require direct access to the OS.

Hi Frank, I'm only using built-in plugins, in this case, Dynamix, and Unraid itself. Updating the unraid os fails.
December 6, 201510 yr Well you could do the manual backup without any fear then. But it still won't sort out the network problem I wouldn't have thought. Strange that it seems to have found the IP OK, which I'm guessing means your DNS is OK but you still get 100% packet loss..
December 7, 201510 yr re: the upgrade issue - how much memory do you have? When my unRaid VM had only 1gb of memory assigned I couldn't upgrade through the UI because it downloads it to the /tmp folder which is part of the fake rootfs which I think is default to 1/2 your memory size. I've since increased the VM to 4 gb of memory and haven't run into any issues upgrading.
December 7, 201510 yr Author It has 4 gb memory. If nothing else, the last thing I suspect is my Firewall. I will try to plug it straight and see if it can download.
December 11, 201510 yr Author Hello all, finally able to download and run the latest version. And yet, I have the same characters on screen. As observed, when I delete plenty of files from the disk in question, the display gets fixed. As download continues, it goes back to being like that. Any other suggestions?

The above is still true up to now. Any more suggestions? Can you change the view (temporary) to have the free column displayed as regular text. And see if the issue is reproduceable on the used column? Looking again at your earlier picture, this is NOT the latest version. The used/free columns are moved more to the right in the later versions. What exactly are you observing, new picture perhaps?
January 11, 201610 yr Community Expert Before this all got sidetracked into versions and upgrades, RobJ had this Not a drive going bad, just a bug with the handling of the calculations. Did you ever check the disk filesystems? Free space on disk2 is more than the total size.
January 11, 201610 yr Author Yup. Whenever I delete 1 to 2 GBs of files, it will go back to normal. When it fills up, it goes crazy again.
January 11, 201610 yr Community Expert Yup. Whenever I delete 1 to 2 GBs of files, it will go back to normal. When it fills up, it goes crazy again. You mean disk2 is even fuller than disk1 and disk3? Maybe you should consider adding more space.
