September 29, 200916 yr The next board on the list is an Abit A-S78H - AMD 780G/SB700 combination. Marvel 88E8056 PCI-E. ATI AD3200 VGA. 4GB RAM. 6 HDDs (4 x 1TB Samsung HD103UJ, 2 x 500GB Seagate ST3500630AS). Running AHCI mode first. Gb speed is OK at around 25MB/s writing to disk shares. No better than the PCI system this PCI-e system is replacing. Syslog is OK, Seagate drives downgraded to SATA I. LM Sensors data is reporting actual values OK, but min/max status is backwards (same for XFX board) and therefore falsely indicating an alarm. Parity check seems to be running in the 70-90Mb/s range. Will report back once completed in two-three hours.
