files not seen by server but exist on disk?

Featured Replies

Not sure what the problem is here. I finished my 3 drive server (no cache) and began transferring files over from several external HDD into a few different user shares. I mapped the shares to drive letters in Windows 10 and basically highlighted the entirety of the external (about 1.5-2TB) and dragged it over. All of the files are there in Windows and look to be transferred correctly. When I view the files on the server, several folders are missing. It's like halfway through one of the transfers, it stopped seeing files. This is a problem for Plex as one folder was all movies. When I browse the files on that disk under the main tab in the web interface, they are not there.

As a test, I deleted one of the movies that I transferred and re-transferred it again. That file worked and plex ingested it.

Do I now have to redo all of the transfers on folder at a time, or is there a way to slap the server into seeing what is actually on the disk?

Ugh... figured it out. I had Plex mapping movies only to Disk1/movies rather than user/movies. When I looked at Disk1 in the file browser, files are missing because the other ones are on disk2 since it's sharing across both.

Sorry, I'm new to servers!
