Installed new Intel NIC. UNRAID still trying to use onboard NIC

System details in signature.

I think my issue is just lack of knowledge, so I did not attach detailed logs.

Just installed a new Intel PCI-E NIC. It is recognized on start up and assigned to eth1. After startup I can interact with by all normal means (ifconfig). However, during startup the system only polls eth0 for a connection. How do I set eth1 (the new NIC) as the primary NIC? This isnt a BIOS issue is it?

Could someone point me to a guide on how to configure a new NIC for Unraid? ...I am somewhat of a noob.

Disable the onboard nic in bios.

does anyone know if there is a way to make the Intel NIC primary, but keep the onboard enabled so that it could be used directly with a VM?

I haven't found a way to do so yet, at least not with my hardware.

It can be done with udev which needs a rule to be set up that associates the MAC address of the new port with the label eth0. Try Google. I found this link which might help, or at least give you a clue.
