Big Problem with Network after sleep and dont know, how to investigate...

Featured Replies

Hello Experts,

i have a Problem with the Networkconnection after wakeup from sleep and have no clue how to investigate this propperly.

Because i am not a Linux-Expert, i dont know, where the logs could be or at least, which log is responsible for this Problem

so i hope someone can help me a little bit to maybe find the Problem.

Description:

After sending a WOL to the unraid-server, server wake up properly BUT...

Both LEDs on the LAN-Connector are OFF (Green-Act and Yellow-Speed).

This happens after 3-5 wakups from sleep since i use unraid v6. With v5 i never had this problem.

If this happens, there are two additional scenarios:

1) The server stays on and nothing happens - no LAN, no nothing - so far so good...

I must push the Power-Button for a sec, server is doing a reboot and all is fine for the next 3-5 sleeps.

Then the Problem comes back again.

2) The server stays on for aprox. 3min and is doing a reboot by itself (?) - strange  ???

After this "auto-reboot" all is ok and server is working well.

So my question is now, is there a Log or something else where i could see, whats going on, because after a reboot, the Syslog is empty

What i want to mention is that the Mainboard NIC is from Realtek - a RTL8111E.

The Board is a S1155 Asrock B75 Pro3-M and is in use since 2013.

So if someone maybe knows this problem i appreciate for every help

Regards Zonediver
