December 16, 201510 yr My hard drives idle in these cages are about 32 degrees. I haven;t started working the drives yet so they wil still get pretty hot without anything sucking the hot air out. Maybe it wont be necessary since the drives should have a pretty high tolerance. The 2 pin connector is either way too small and made so that you can only plug iStars 40mm fans into them or the 40mm fan I bought has an incompatible 2 pin plug. Fan Splitter 4 pin Molex > 3 Qty PWM headers 30cm long CONNECT MULTIPLE PWM FANS http://www.amazon.com/Splitter-Molex-headers-CONNECT-MULTIPLE/dp/B009D3HV1Q The fans do come with a 2 pin to 3 pin adapter, so I could get a molex to 3 pin splitter and connect them that way but it wouldnt look as clean inside as connecting the fans to the cage.
December 17, 201510 yr Author I ended up using the 2 pin -> 3 pin adapter and plugged the 3 pin adapters into a molex -> 4x2pin splitter. The Scythe fans did not come with screws so I picked up some 3mm x 16mm machine screws with some 3mm nuts to hold them in place. Home Depot carried them for about .50 a package of 3 screws. I ended up only putting 2 screws in per fan because that is all I had on hand and should be plenty for that tiny fan.
