smino
Here is something interesting I have noticed since I switched my entire home/office to Linux Mint 7(Ubunutu+++) 64 bit, If I browse using network neighborhood icon in Linux, I can see all the accents such as " é É è ç Ç " , but if I mount a cifs share in the fstab, I see question marks and invalid encoding. Why is that? I am guessing that the network windows browser is using samba (which I believe Linux is about to drop for good), where as a cifs mount is somehow different. I tried /etc/fstab //tower/media/ /home/jdoe/media cifs credentials=/root/.smbcredentials, iocharset=utf8,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777 0 0 Any hints? Quote Link to comment
