December 20, 201510 yr Hey all I know this topic has been covered multiple times, I have a question that has not been answered. I have a HTPC [kodi 16 b4], a samsung galaxy tab 10.1 p7500 [xbmc 12.2], a ouya [kodi 14.2]. My question is due to the huge difference in version numbers for kodi [i do not have a choice about this as the devices have only support to those versions] is it still possible to have a central db. And out of the multiple solutions which is the best one for my problem. Thanking you for taking the time to read this..
December 20, 201510 yr Community Expert No, it's not possible, you must run the same kodi version or at least the same db version. The only solution I see would be to downgrade your HTPC and ouya to 12.2 if that's possible? Or you could try the UPnP route (haven't tested this so don't know if it will work). http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Share_libraries_using_UPnP Or maybe Emby does the trick (?), kodi has a emby addon. http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Emby_for_Kodi (you could at least check it out). I think there's a Emby docker too if you search the forums.
