Plex downloads metadata before triggering the mover. What's wrong?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have recently upgraded my server to 6.1.6 and I have configured my plex using docker and lime-tech container.

Plex downloads metadata the moment move a file from my PC to cache before triggering the mover.  Is that correct? In my previous version, plex was downloading after I trigger the mover.

Thanks,

Abdulla

Not sure I understand what you're asking, but any files on cache that belong to a user share are already part of that user share even before they get moved.

/mnt/user/movies includes files in /mnt/cache/movies, /mnt/disk1/movies, /mnt/disk2/movies, ...

So with your volume mappings, when a file is added to /mnt/cache/Movies Plex will see it in /movies whether it has been moved from cache or not.

This is the way it has always worked, at least on the unRAID side of things. Maybe something about your Plex has changed.
