Upgrade to v6

Featured Replies

I think I'm ready to upgrade my server from v5 to v6.    I noticed that there are two way to upgrade.  What's easier to use?  I only have Emby server installed.  That's the most important thing in the server.  I do have total 6 HDDs.  1 parity, 1 cache and 4 for data.    So use the plugin or do it manually?

Just to clarify, what two ways did you notice?

Yes I have read it.    Just couldn't decide if I should use the plugin or not.    Like I said. I only have the Emby server plugin installed.  So it's not like I'm gonna have to do much .  All I care is my data doesn't get deleted or reformat.  Lol

I need some help.

I formatted the flash drive, copy v6 files over. I ran the make_Bootable batch file.  I copied v5 config folders and share folder over to v6.  (did not copy Go file)    I'm a little lost with syslinux folder from v5.0.6 now.  Am I keeping  v5 syslinux.cfg or the folder?  or am I using the v6 syslinux folder and all the v6 files?

If you formatted the flash drive then the only syslinux folder should be the v6 version.  The v5 syslinux folder should not have been copied as it is not part of the configuration information.

WOOHOO!!!  Looks like the upgrade went smoothly.    hmmm, I dont see the PhAze Emby Plugins.  I thought it would just show up after the upgrade.  Am I supposed to leave that in the plugins folder?  I still have it  in my backup if i need to put it in.

and awesome.  I can have up to 12 HDD now.  (purchased a Plus key when I was using v5

v5 plugins are not compatible with v6.  You need to either switch to using a docker or find a compatible plugin under Plugins (v6)->6.1 (verified) part of the forum.

Installing the Community Applications plugin can help with finding suitable plugins or dockers.
