December 20, 201510 yr I have just started rebuilding my server, without esxi this time. (Irrelevant story) I have 3, 3tb drives installed. One Parity and 2 data. Data drives have been formatted, and the system is running a parity check. Once that is done I will be copying to the server, and installing the other 3 data drives. Here is the issue. Every time I shut down my pc during the parity check, the unraid box shuts down as well. I'm not sure where the connection is. They are both in a UPS, but my pc is not connected to the ups in any way, other than being plugged into it for power. No apps, or services are installed. Could it be the ups? I know I could take the ups out and see, but the check is currently running again. Just wondering if there is a setting or something.

If your pic is in the master slot, it might shut off unRaid when it is turned off. The master slot does just that. When the master goes off, the slave is powered off.
December 20, 201510 yr Author Sounds good. I wondered if it was just that. Now does this do a proper shutdown of unraid? If so I may keep it like this. Its the latest version I downloaded tonight.
December 20, 201510 yr Now does this do a proper shutdown of unraid? No, it's the worst way possible to shut down a computer. It's the same as yanking the plug out of the wall. Unraid should be shut down from the webgui, stopping the array and then clicking the button to shut down.
