Install unraid on something other than Slackware?

Featured Replies

I have unraid installed on Slackware, and well, I hate Slackware.  Having to manage dependencies and so on, compiling all my software myself;  I just don't have the spare time for it.  I think my wife is starting to hate me.

Has anyone got this working on anything else?  Debian, Ubuntu, Gentoo, etc?  Anything?

Are there any guidelines on getting it to work?

Thanks

The MD driver works fine, but the main control software emHttp will not work. It segfaults with numerous "file not found" errors. If you do try running a different package, you WILL need to change those to look like Slackware.

If you're finding that to be too much for you, perhaps you should look into a second system and leave unRaid as a simple fileserver. What software that you absolutely need are you finding you have to compile yourself?

I am sorry, just saw the other thread.  Can we delete this somehow?
