Hi everyone.

 

So my current case is not the best for cooling hard drives or storing them so I am looking to build a DAS. I am looking to use a LSI SAS 9280-8E as the controllef card going to the external box.

 

Has anyone used one of these with unraid?

 

I don't see it getting any bottle necks with 2 12gb/s connectors. At first it will only be running 3 sata hdds but I plan to add a few ssd and keeping ssd on one connector and hdds on the other.

 

Can anyone see any issues with this?

    So i'm going to mark this as solved and just take the risk. To my understanding because the device is a HBA with no onboard raid, unraid should not notice the device and therefore not care so it should work.

     

    Only time will tell i guess :)
