October 12, 200916 yr Hi! I ve got a registered version of unraid and I could say that I am quite satisfied with it! the only problem is that about a week now I disconnected the keyboard and vga from my tower and it seems that most of the times the system wont start. It boots and when it reaches a point that it says somehting like <<unpacking...(something)>> the the system restarts. It does that most of the times but sometimes it boots. I chkdsk the flash disk and it seems to be ok (its a U3 Twinmos of 2gb). I connected the vga and keyboard and now it seems to work ok (I am still testing...). Is there anything that we could do about this?
October 12, 200916 yr I doubt it's keyboard-vga connection. My server never had peripherals attached to it most of times.
October 13, 200916 yr Author I know it sounds crazy... I ve got it conneced with a kb-vga now and it seems to work ok... I also run prime95 and memtest86 in order to double check... I ll leave it like this for 3-4 days... I never had any problem before removing vga-kb...
October 15, 200916 yr look inside the bios of your MB to see if there is a stop command or something like that when there is no vga / keybr. If you see it and it says enable, change it to desable.
October 31, 200916 yr Author look inside the bios of your MB to see if there is a stop command or something like that when there is no vga / keybr. If you see it and it says enable, change it to desable. Well thats not the problem. I did a research and there is an issue with the motherboard. There is somthing wrong with keyboard usb support and linux... So it doesnt seem to be unraid's fault. When I ll find a solution I ll post it here.
November 1, 200916 yr I disconnected the keyboard and vga from my tower and ... when it reaches a point that it says somehting like <<unpacking...(something)>> the the system restarts. The statement above threw me in a serious loop. I mean, you saw that how?
November 1, 200916 yr Good question. Maybe he had a serial connection and a terminal? In fact I think he just waited long enough, didn't see anything going forward (drive LEDs or USB stick LED or web interface) and reconnected VGA.
