Adaptec 6805E SMART Info Missing

Featured Replies

Hi

I am making the move to unRaid from Windows (Storage Spaces), running 2 x Adaptec 6805E Controllers with 16 Drives. I have not moved my data off the old drives yet as I am still kicking the tires on unRaid to make sure my system is stable. I am sitting with a problem that it would seem like I need to load drivers for the Adaptec 6805E controller for it to fully function as I am not getting the temp values though and/or able to perform any SMART tests on my drivers (No errors given but no information returned either. The problem is there are no drivers for this card for Slackware

(http://www.adaptec.com/en-us/support/raid/sas_raid/sas-6805e/), any suggestions? All my drives are configured as JBOD. I am also not able to install the Storage Manager tool for Linux (Very handy to diagnose disk problems using a GUI.

Any suggestions?

Send an email to Limetech support and ask to get the driver for your particular card model included. Usually they are quite open to these kind of requests

I was running this card also, I wasn't getting any errors. How ever I wasn't getting any temps either. I actually just pulled this card out of my server cause it was giving me real headaches. What did you end up doing?
