January 3, 201610 yr It would be nice to have some way to use VLAN tagging or implement VSwitch support. With unRAID now having the ability to act as a hypervisor with KVM it becomes necessary to manipulate the networking components.
January 16, 201610 yr +1, we don't care for a GUI just include 8021q in the kernel, we can do the rest becuase we already need to. It's been asked for before. https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=6404.0
January 30, 201610 yr Definitely agree. Just would like it added in the kernel. It's not something that is needed to be supported in the GUI. It would allow me to take 2 PCIe NICs out of my machine and I wouldn't have to bother with passthrough. And it would improve security. And allow me to run virtual firewalls and routers for lab scenarios, or put it into home production.
January 30, 201610 yr This for me falls into the same camp as IPv6; make it available for expert users to experiment with but keep it unsupported for now. IMHO this is an essential feature on a box that has containerization and visualization support.

IMHO this is an essential feature on a box that has containerization and visualization support. My Opinion too. Thought I could just drop in the necessary slackware packages then I found out the kernel didn't have the bits in. Does anybody know if there are prebuilt modules for people like us?.
February 13, 201610 yr +1 It would be a nice to have feature. But I also think there are more important things to be done.
