Methods of moving files from 1 unraid server to another..?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Soooo I have a tincy wincy 12TB unraid server and will be buying another licence for a 76TB build.

Both will be connected to the same network, however, I would like advice on the best method of moving files across from the 12TBs to the new 76TB build. Bearing in mind that the new drives are 8tb archive drives with low buffer limits, I was advised to use teracopy and use a windows machine to drag stuff over

Anyone add a suggestion?

Teracopy with Windows as the "middleman" of the two servers would probably be the easiest to setup and have the lowest learning curve.

Another possibility would be to mount the network shares of one computer on the other. The Unassigned Devices plugin makes this easy. You could do a lot of different things from there without getting another computer involved at all. Copying from the command line or midnight commander, rsync, scheduling copy or rsync with cron, etc.

dolphin docker app for the closest to a Windows experience without involving another computer
