I need a new Dynamic DNS provider

Featured Replies

Dyn.com just doubled their rate from $20/yr to $40/yr.

Any suggestions for a new service provider?  Would be optimal if it worked within pfsense.

TIA!

Actually, it looks like DuckDNS can be used in pfsense even though it is not in the dropdown list.  I'll probably just go with them.

It can, i run it, i actually run duckdns and no-ip, no ill effects

I paid less than that for a domain name from namecheap, now use ddclient to update my DNS.

if it doesnt need to be anything special. Asus offer free dynamic DNS with their routers. you get a x.asuscomm.com domain

Netgear does the same.  I just created my account last week.  Purchased my router a few years ago.

This is what I use.

Duckdns is awesome.

You can get up to 5 subdomains for free. They do not expire, and you don't have to do anything to keep them active (some require you to login on their webpages every so often).

If pfsense does not include them in the dropdown, the duckdns website lists instructions for how to enable it as a custom provider in pfsense

very very easy on pfsense
