Increasing Slot allocation causes WebGUI crash?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've submitted a bug report to the team, but I just read a sticky post suggesting that a topic be posted to see if other users have been affected too.

Unfortunately because the webgui crashes, I can't access the logs to copy/paste - I'm an Unraid novice, so perhaps there's another way to obtain logs if necessary?

In short, all I'm trying to do is stop my array, increase my slots from 9 to 10 so I can add in a new drive.

When doing so using the web interface, it immediately bombs me out so I can't save the new configuration and allocate the new drive - the web browser then indicates that the server is unreachable, like it's turned off or is not connected to the network.

This is the error I receive:-

This webpage is not available

ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

I login using telnet (which indicates the network is fine) and then I send the command to reboot the server.

When it's up and running again, everything is dandy, but my slot configuration remains the same.

I stop my array, attempt to increase it once again and boom.. rinse and repeat..

Any suggestions are welcome.

I'm using v6.1.6

Out of curiosity, I changed my settings to stop the auto-start of my array.

I have tried to reboot and change my settings before the array starts - this has worked successfully and the settings have saved.

Not a critical bug I supposed, but at least if someone encounters something similar, disable auto-start and reboot to change the array slot allocation.

HTH.

This is happening for me too, 6.18. EDIT: issue happening in Chrome browser only

In my case auto-start is not enabled and I am unable to increase the allocation, which leaves me stuck.

Is there a console workaround for changing allocations?

EDIT: gah, this appears to be browser specific, works fine in MS Edge (of all things)  :o

There are several things that have issues in Chrome but work fine in IE, Edge, or Firefox.    In some cases it's due to ad blockers; but the common denominator is Chrome.    Best way to avoid the issue is to use a different browser for accessing the Web GUI -- at least anytime you want to make any changes.
