SMB Share secure not secure?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Here my problem, my folder are setup as secure,  so they required a username and password.

But for some reason I can go in the folder as read only?

If a folder is secure,  should it be secure and not let me see what is inside?

I try loggin from my android phone as anonymous and was able to see everything.

You want Private, not Secure.

Secure is read/write for specified users and read-only for all others.

Private is read/write for specified users, read-only for other specified users, and no access for all others.

Correct.  You need to use the "Private" setting.

"Public" means anyone can read or write the data.

"Secure" means the data is readable by everyone but can only be written or deleted by the user with the correct username and password.

"Private" means no-one can read or write the data unless they have the correct username and password.
