October 17, 200916 yr Finally got around putting the unRAID box together from PC upgrade leftovers (sort of ) Case: Lian-Li V2100 Plus PSU: Corsair TX-750W MB: Asus M3A-H HDMI RAM: 2*2GB Corsair DDR2 CPU: AMD Athlon2 x64 5600 (2.9GHz dual core) PCI-controller: Lycom ST-115 (Sil 3114) I know, too much CPU for a fileserver, but hey...it was laying around. Power consumption ~60W/h idle, ~80-90W when transfering data (measured values) Storage as on now 6*1TB WD Green (EACS and EADS) 2*1.5TB WD Green (EADS) 2*2TB WD Green Temp is cool, 30-35degrees during heavy transfers and 23-24degrees during standby, gotta love that Lian-Li case... Transfer speeds are nice too, 35-70MB/s depending on which HD the transfer is to (haven't enabled parity + cache yet). Transfer goes through a Netgear Router (WNR-3500) and a gigabit switch before ending up in the unRAID box. Media is served to a Tvix M-7000 using Samba and haven't had any issues with stutter yet eventhough some movies have massive average bitrate.
October 17, 200916 yr I thought I had some "reasonable kit" laying around but that is ridiculous... ;-)
