Unable to restart VM with passthrough GPU

Featured Replies

Hey,

Seems I have an issue where I can have a nice first boot on the VM where the gpu works correctly, but when I try to restart from the VM or shut it down and try to start it back up, the screen does not turn on any more.

The board is a Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H, addon video cards are a GTX 570 and a Radeon R290, only tried to boot a single VM so far with the GTX570.

IOMMU groups for video cards are seperated so that shouldn't be an issue.

Any ideas or clues as to what I could check?

There are some GPUs that don't reset correctly. When the VM is shut down.  The GTX 570 looks like one.

It would seem that this is indeed the case. The R9 290 has no issues rebooting on this motherboard.
