USER Share Question - UNRAID 5.0.6

Featured Replies

I created a user share as follows:

Name: Movies

Comments:

Allocation method:

Min. free space: 0

Split level:

Included disk(s): disk10

Excluded disk(s):

Began the copy of ~2TB of data into this share on drive10 (2TB drive)

the copy is still going on and the drive shows 833.57 GB free

I noticed today (the copy has been going on since yesterday) that there is now a folder "Movies" on disk4 with data in it.

--------Capacity----FREE-------

disk04: 2 TB            1.59 TB

disk10: 2 TB        833.57 GB

Disk04 has one other usershare

Disk10 has no other usershares

426Gb of data still to copy from the original ~2Tb (729 items left from 2236). Copy is still going.

Question: WHY is UNRAID spreading the Movies Folder to disk4?

Thanks in advance.

(copy is from a portable WD USB drive hooked up to my PC which is on the same gigabit switch as the UNRAID server)

Are you sure that unRAID is writing new files to disk4?  If there was already a Movies file on that disk then unRAID would include it for existing files, but should not be writing new files to the disk if you have told it to only use disk10.

It copied some of the files there - then it stopped. I am not sure what caused it. Its very puzzling.

I used midnight commander and copied the stuff over to the correct location.
