January 8, 201610 yr I ordered a SAS2LP, however I am a long way from needing additional data storage and will likely return it --- why waste 6 sata connections on a $120 card when only 2 are needed. I am instead considering a PCIe Sata III for Full Speed SSD Cache (250 GB 850 Evo) and Single Preclear Duties in my low power machine which has a single x16 slot (x4 electrical). In other words, only 2 Sata ports are needed (though 3 ports would be nice). Hopefully one that is new, supports > 4 TB drives, works out of the box, and at least matches the quality of the supermicro boards. Any suggestions?

I STOPPED the SASLP/SAS2LP card as it appears a number of users are having issues with in in v6. Too bad, the cards where fantastic
