January 9, 201610 yr Now that Unraid has an upload / vote feature, it would be GREAT to have an Upload hardware Config tab: For example ---> click on type (Sata Controller), drop down of connection interface, brand, chipset info, etc, unraid version, works out of box, link to forum for what is needed to get it working (if no to prior boolean), special notes (200 char max), recognizes > 2.2 TB drives, etc and have this feed into a table/dbf that users can access on the web to see what is being used, by how many contributors, etc... right now hardware selection can be such a crap-shoot... one has to search the forums to see what users are posting about their hardware, and what is in the wiki is very outdated.
October 8, 20169 yr This might be an old post, but I want to bring it back to life. YES!! THIS!! I'm searching high and low for a list of hardware that I can confidently buy. I want to build unRAID systems for my clients. If I buy hardware that doesn't work, it's really bad for business. I want to be able to verify that my hardware is either working or producing problems. I want to contribute to a user-supported list. Let's make this a community. unRAID deserves it!
