RSYNC caused loss of share item permissions

Featured Replies

moving from RFS to XFS

Ran  rsync -avPX /mnt/disk1/ /mnt/disk4/

Now anything that is on disk 4 does not have permission in the SMB Share.

Anything on disks 2 or 3 still is accessible as normal

... and I have already formatted disk 1 as XFS and begun an rsync from Disk 2 to Disk 1 as I confirmed all the files where good.

How to I regain permissions to the SMB share folders/files on disk 4!

edit:  went to share, set SMB to NO, reset to ON/Secure... now appears ok... will check more tomorrow.

@trul... if still having issues, I will reset new permissions tomorrow.  Thank you for the wicked fast response!

Given that my primary tower is my main file store for the entire family... not the local computers... I had about 2 hours of panic
