Disk Fill, no longer able to add to some files to share....???? Please help

Featured Replies

Hi,

I run UnRAID 6.0.1

I have a problem as I have run out of space on one disk and the other 3 disks are low as well

Disk Number    Free Space

disk1 23.0 GB

disk2 119 MB

disk3 20.9 GB

disk4 16.8 GB

I tried copying a new season of a TV show to my unraid server and it failed due to lack of space.

I have the following setup...

My File Structure

Movies

            --> Jaws

                  --> Movie File

            --> Jaws2

                  --> Movie File

            --> King Kong

                  --> Movie File

TV

      --> Lost

      --> Season 1

            --> Episodes

      --> Season 2

            --> Episodes

      --> Season 3

            --> Episodes

TV

      --> The Big Bang Theory

      --> Season 1

            --> Episodes

      --> Season 2

            --> Episodes

      --> Season 3

            --> Episodes

My Shares

Movies Split at Level 1 - So Movies is recreated on each disk, but each individual movie folder is on one disk only.

TV       Split Level 2 - So TV and TV Show folders are created on each disk, each season is on one disk only.

Solutions Please?

Do I just change the split level of TV so individual episodes can be split on to seperate disk?

Do I change out the size of the disks?

Do I add more disks? Not sure if this will fix my issue, as the split level currently set requires the season to be on the same disk.

I look forward to any suggestions to solving my issue, it must be a common issue  ;D

Thanks

Check your share’s minimum free space, make sure is set to a value larger than the biggest file size you want to transfer.

it is set to 0kb, but is that going to solve the issue? i,e. the season/episodes still wont fit due to level of split?

If the whole season is larger than the 23GB it won't fit with your current split level settings,  upgrade at least one disk or change settings.

Also, if for example you have a partial season on disk2 and with your current settings you won’t be able to add a single episode.

Yes, The is a part season....

So do I change the level split, and change the disk to a bigger one?

If you really want to keep an entire season on a single disk you need to upgrade that disk, if you don’t care you can change split level, although the other disks are almost full, so you’ll need to upgrade soon.

Can I shift a season to another disk manually?

i.e. got to Disk 1 cut and paste to disk 3?

Does this still work...?

Yes, use disk shares only.
