I have noticed over the past few days that when I have posted an attachment that within "seconds" of the post AND I mean the page doesn't even get time to refresh for me to look @ the finished article then my attachment is downloaded several times by someone or what must be some THING!

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this behaviour!

Off a post I just submitted after milliseconds of a page refresh:

S.M.A.R.T Reports.zip (3.41 kB - downloaded 18 times.)

Interesting that it didn't happen when I posted 2 x .png files to a different thread in a different part of the forum! After 5 minutes there were just 1 view per file which suggests real users looking!!

preclear_main_server.png (27.16 kB, 1308x119 - viewed 1 times.)

Or perhaps something automated out there must just like eating zip files!!  ;)  :o::)

Zip file Monster doesn't quite having the same ring as Cookie Monster! But you get the point!

LOL! Just the right thread the bot spammed  ;D

Edit: Looks a little bit stupid my comment after the spam post was removed....

Probably related to what you noticed, I've noticed that diagnostics and syslogs are now being downloaded by about 20 to 30 more users than in the past.  That does appear suspiciously like some sort of bot.  Although, it's slightly possible there are more users that have taken an interest in analyzing syslogs!

I've have the same thing happen where I posted a zip file and within a second it had 20 ish downloads. I thought it most have been a reporting error but I'm guessing you're probably right and something is grabbing attachments.
