Server keeps shutting down after start up

Featured Replies

Hi all

I am having an issue now that whenever I boot the server up it gets to BZ Image  > ok then after that is states Linux decompressing, it then proceeds to shutdown.

Any ideas?

Any ideas?

Hardware problem such as inadequate power or overheating.

Memory problem, select memtest from the boot menu.

Corrupt flash or just a bad install.

That's all that come to mind right now.

I would think that this is most likely an issue with the CPU fan and the system is shutting down to protect the CPU from overheating.

sounds like power supply may be going bad.  what is make, model and age of the PS?

Hi all

Thanks very much for the quick replies and I have tested each suggestion, made sure the CPU fan was connected correctly, ran mem test and seems to be fine now.

I think the issue might of been around the CPU fan, so currently I am booted up and running parity checks.

Thanks very much for your help, much appreciated.
