SSD as boot drive

Featured Replies

Hi there

Im am quite new to unRaid, just purchased it. I thought it would be possible to install unRaid on my SSD? Is it really that impossible. The reason is, i don't want to use a USB key when i already have a SSD for system drive.

I would like to have 2 partitions on my SSD, one for cache and one for boot. Is that really impossible? It just says "flash device error"?

Thanks

This is not supported and not needed. The OS runs completely in RAM, so the flash drive is only used to unpack the OS into RAM and after that is only used to record settings made in the webUI.

Also, the license key is tied to the USB drive GUID.

As well a USB is super cheap. Save your SSD and use it for a Cache Drive or for for Dockers/VMS.
