unRAID on Hyper-V Server 2008 R2

Featured Replies

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone is using or looked at using unRAID as a VM on Hyper-V Server using raw disk pass-though?  I was reading about HVS2008 yesterday and thought it would be a sweet alternative to ESXi 4.0, at least until vmware fixes the usb pass-through problems.

I want to test this myself, however my testbed is only 32bit (x64 req.) and I'm not quite ready to build a new server.

Thanks.

It seems a bit of an effort and wouldn't think it'll be worth the fuss. There have been discussions on this forum on getting VMware Server running on a unRAID server (Being that it is a Sllackware-based Linux OS), which I'm certain VMware Server (Not ESXi) supports USB pass-over, so that would be the better option. Good Luck!
