i see alot of 2 - 4x core quad core servers with 32 gb of ram poping up on ebay and not a high price i have 21tb of drives to add already but not sure what to do my current hardware is very under powered as in 4 cores also just a old rog mother board i had around , im about to upgrade my gaming pc fully so will have 8 core cpu and 16gb of ram but no pci pass through as far as im aware also my 2 rog mother boards have no onboard graphics so im using sum old gpus i have pci bass through aint to importand as will be sitting in loft but would like few vm's with more power to rum smaller apps ect to my pc has little to do

 

what should i go for £300 on old 4x quad core cpu server rack or use my rog 8 core or buy new parts and small case with space for 10 drives 2 ssd's ? also my dual gigabit port

 

any advise pro's cons....
