Plugins -> 'Check For Updates' not working

Featured Replies

Afternoon folks, hope everyone is having a great day.  Have a small annoying problem that I believe is related to permissions, but before i break anything, i figured i would ping those smarter than me.  Basically put, when i try to 'Check for Updates' under Plugins OR if i try to click 'Update' for an existing plugin, i get the following message:

sh: plugin: command not found

Similarly if i try to check my Log in the upper-right hand corner of the main page, i get:

sh: follow: command not found

That's what I think it's a permissions problem.

I am currently running UNRAID 6.0.1 and looking to upgrade to 6.1.6.

I've attached my diag in case it's needed.

thanks for any help you can provide,

Chris

Restart your system in safe mode (no plugins loaded), and then perform the upgrade.

Btw. latest version is 6.1.7

Definitely update.

But, as an aside, you still have the VM Manager (which was for 6 beta 10) plugin installed, which was integrated into the UI with 6.0 beta 15 and may cause you some issues.  You have to remove that plugin under your current 6.0.1 or 6.1.7

You've also got dynamix KVM manager (which was for 6 beta 12+) which is also integrated in 6.01.  You've got to remove it under your current 6.0.1 or 6.1.7

THanks so much to both of you for your quick replies!  really appreciated.  a couple of follow-up questions:

1.  I'm trying to make sure i get rid of the correct plug-ins.  From the plug-in menu, i presume you are talking about:

-Virtual Machine Management

-Web Virtual Manager support

2.  How do i reboot into 'safe mode'?  I think this may have been implemented after 6.0.1

much appreciated,

Chris

Yeah, those are the plgs to remove...  With them gone (and a restart), you may not need to boot into safe mode.

But, to get into safe mode, hook a keyboard and monitor up to the server.  An option will be there on the boot menu when you restart (its been there I believe since 5.something)

You've also gone some other stuff in /boot/extra.  Not sure if you need them or not, but if you don't then you might as well remove those files also

If you don't mind, I would recommend to start as clean as possible.

Delete or rename the folders /extra and /config/plugins on your flash device and restart the system, this is equivalent to starting in safe mode (but in a more permanent way).

Rebooting now.  There was no /extra, and i MVed the /config/plugins to /config/plugins.bk, so i'm starting clean....

<rebooting>

Back up!  only plug-ins installed now are:

-Dynamix webGui

-UNRAID Server OS

a) am i cool to upgrade to 6.1.7 now?  and

b) I dont see any KVM console any longer.  Do i just need to follow the instructions to get that readded?

thanks,

Chris

When you enable VM support under Settongs->VM Manager then a VMs tab is shown in the GUI.

Gents,

a HUGE thank-you to all three of you.  I've never felt more confident about the stability of my system, and things are clean clean clean.  Your help during your personal time is really well appreciated.  Hope i can one day return the assist.

Sincerely,

Chris
